Airports can be such a bore. Ben
left the belt off, he could not be bothered with the hassle. We had
organised a late check out, so we just hung around the hotel room. We
flew to Frankfurt again, arriving there this morning, then to
Stockholm. This time I managed to sleep.
I am trying to stay up and get back
into the time zone, Ben has crashed. The excitement of the last 2
weeks has worn off. We inspected the building work, everything is
very nice. Per and Lasse have stocked up the fridge for us, and
everything is very clean. It looks nice, freshly painted.
I have phoned several people to
report we are back and check if everything is alright here. No
problems anywhere.
We had dinner, Ben was not very
hungry. We went for a short walk, some fresh air was nice, after the
canned air on the plane. The boy is subdued, I hope it's just the jet
lag.
Friday, 18th November
It is up and down and we are back
to our routine. After a hectic day yesterday for Ben, doing washing,
ironing, shopping and yoga, this morning he woke up with a sore
throat. By early afternoon he was not well, he was feverish. I
diagnosed tonsillitis. We went to his doctor, I was glad to have the
car.
We decided to hit him with some
antibiotics intravenously for 3 days, and then he can switch to a
liquid. Dr Svensson wanted to do the first session at the surgery, so
we were there for 2 hours. Ben mostly slept, and rested when we got
home. Luckily he has his shakes anyway, so at least I got some
nutrition into him. He has put on some weight while we were away,
maybe it was the American food.
I phoned Ruth to get an update what
vaccinations he had and any childhood illnesses. It is good to now
these things. She was concerned that he was ill, I assured her after
a week of antibiotics he will be fine. It is very common when someone
is run down and had a lot of stress to develop an infection like
this.
